Nothing interrupts a trip like warnings on the radio about “severe thunderstorms with car-damaging hail”. Warnings were for Hastings; great for people who live there, pretty useless for travelers who have no idea where Hastings is. Car GPS says: 30 miles directly ahead…. so we pulled over at a rest stop and waited it out, about 30 minutes.By the time we passed through the area, all was sunny, roads were drying out.
Had a chat at the rest stop with a guy from CT with a BMW 6 series, making very much the same trip – except that he was averaging over 90 mph.
