I think the phrase “Big Sky Country” is trademarked by Montana (no, I’m not kidding) but the sky in the west is, well, bigger.
That’s right over our back fence… yes, the weather *has* been a bit unsettled this week. Weather is also insanely localized; one day I was downtown, nice and dry – rode my bike home (maybe six blocks away), and all the streets were wet.
We took a short drive up into the mountains on the weekend – you can sit and watch the thermometer drop as you gain altitude. All of the snow up there is gone.
This is a cool shot – from the LaSal forest, looking down into Castle Valley. It’s not fog, it’s not smog, it’s not smoke – it’s heat haze. I think.
